The registry
Check a certification
A funder can check months later that the people they paid for exist and are current. An employer can check before they assign a caseload.
Certification is held by the individual and verified by the Institute. A credential that can be withdrawn needs published grounds and an appeal, so both are on this page below the search.
Not yet live
The registry opens with the first cohort
No certifications have been issued, so there is nothing to search yet. When the first cohort sits the examination, every certificate gets a permanent address that can be cited in a resume, a contract, or a licensing file.
A registry search returns the holder's name, the tier held, the date awarded, the renewal date, and one of four standings. It does not show exam scores, the reason for any change in standing, or the holder's employer unless the holder has chosen to list it.
Four standings
What a search tells you
A credential is either current or it is not, and the difference between lapsed and revoked matters a great deal to the person holding it.
| Standing | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | The credential is current, renewal requirements are met, and the holder may represent the tier. |
| Suspended | The credential is paused while a review under Section 4 is under way, or while a renewal requirement is overdue by more than sixty days. The holder may not represent the tier until the suspension is lifted. |
| Revoked | The credential has been withdrawn under Section 3. The holder may not represent any Institute tier. The entry remains searchable for three years so that a prior claim can be checked. |
| Lapsed | The renewal date passed and the holder did not renew. No finding is implied. The holder may restore standing under Section 6. |
Lapsed implies no finding of any kind. It means a renewal date passed. The registry shows which standing applies and never shows why it changed.
Standing, revocation, and appeal policy, effective August 31, 2026
What a certificate holder agrees to
Each holder agrees to these as a condition of being listed. They are the terms the grounds below enforce.
- represent only the tier actually held, and only while standing is Active;
- describe the Navigation Capacity Practice Profile and the Anchor Function Map as structured practice tools, never as validated instruments;
- keep examination items, answer keys, and facilitator materials confidential;
- complete the applied task, practicum, and follow up obligations of the tier honestly and from the holder’s own caseload; and
- notify the Institute within thirty days of any event listed in Section 3.
Grounds
What a credential can be suspended or revoked for
Suspension is the ordinary first step. Revocation is reserved for the four marked grounds, or for a second finding on any ground.
Misrepresenting the tier held, the standing of the credential, or the Institute's endorsement of a program or person.
Describing an Institute practice tool as a validated, normed, or diagnostic instrument to a funder, an agency, a court, or a young person.
Disclosing, copying, or reproducing examination items, answer keys, or facilitator only materials.
Revocation without prior suspension
Submitting an applied task, timing map, anchor function map, or practicum record that is fabricated, copied, or drawn from a caseload the holder does not actually carry.
Revocation without prior suspension
A substantiated finding by a child welfare agency, licensing body, court, or employer of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or a boundary violation involving a young person.
Revocation without prior suspension
Loss of a professional license, or termination for cause, where the conduct concerns the holder's work with young people or the handling of their information.
Disclosing a young person's identifying information in any Institute artifact, worksheet, or report, contrary to the initials only rule.
Failing to complete renewal requirements within sixty days of the renewal date.
Failing, as a Certified Navigator, to submit required take up reporting for two consecutive reporting periods.
Not grounds
The Institute does not revoke a credential for disagreement with the frameworks, for critical feedback about the training, or for a young person's outcome. Outcomes are the product of many factors, and no single holder is judged on them.
How a review works
The process, with the clock on it
Every step carries a deadline, because a credential paused indefinitely while somebody thinks about it is a revocation by another name.
- 1
On receipt
A concern reaches the Institute in writing from any source: an employer, an agency, a young person, another holder, or the Institute's own fidelity review. Anonymous concerns are accepted but are weighed against what can be verified.
- 2
Within 10 business days
The Institute decides whether the concern, if true, would fall under the published grounds. If it would not, the matter closes and the holder is not contacted.
- 3
If it would fall under them
The Institute sends the holder a written notice stating the ground alleged, the facts as reported, and the evidence relied on, with personal information about any young person removed. Where the alleged ground is one of the four marked above, the credential is suspended from the date of the notice.
- 4
Within 15 business days
The holder responds in writing and may include documents and statements from others.
- 5
Within 20 business days of the response deadline
A review panel of two Institute Facilitators who have no supervisory, employment, or personal relationship with the holder decides the matter on the written record. The panel may lift the suspension, impose conditions, suspend for a stated period of up to twelve months, or revoke.
- 6
Same day as the decision
The decision is sent to the holder in writing with the reasons, and the registry is updated. If the holder listed an employer on the registry, the Institute notifies that employer of the change in standing but not of the reasons.
Appeal
Decided by people who took no part in the review
A holder may appeal a suspension or revocation within thirty days of the written decision by sending a written appeal to the Institute. The appeal must state which finding is disputed and why, and may raise new evidence that was not reasonably available during the review.
The appeal is decided by a panel of two people who took no part in the review: one Institute Facilitator and one external member drawn from a partner organization’s leadership. The panel decides on the written record within thirty days of receiving the appeal. It may affirm, modify, or reverse the decision.
The appeal decision is final. A holder whose credential is revoked may not reapply for certification for two years from the date of the final decision.
Restoring standing
How a credential comes back
Three of the four standings have a route back. The fourth says so plainly rather than leaving somebody to write and find out.
| From | How standing is restored |
|---|---|
| Suspended for a renewal lapse | Complete the overdue renewal requirement. Standing returns to Active on confirmation. |
| Suspended by a review decision | Meet any conditions the panel set and serve the stated period. Standing returns to Active when the Institute confirms both. |
| Lapsed | Complete the current renewal requirement within twelve months of the renewal date. After twelve months, the holder retakes the certification exam for the tier. |
| Revoked | No restoration. Reapplication is permitted after two years and requires the full training, exam, and applied task for the tier sought. |
Records and contact
Where a concern or an appeal goes
The Institute keeps the complete record of every review and appeal for seven years. Records are available to the holder on request and are not disclosed to others except as required by law or by a subpoena.
Concerns, responses, and appeals are sent in writing to info@bridgehomesinstitute.org. A mailing address is published here when the Institute registers one.
This policy is reviewed annually and any change is published on this page before it takes effect.
Employer, contact details, and examination scores are never published. If you hold a certification and something on your entry is wrong, write to us and we will correct it. See the certification tiers for what each credential covers.
